Laura Celna
Laura Celna has been a practising artist for over thirty years and have exhibited both locally and internationally. She completed a Bachelor degree in Fine Art from RMIT in 1997 and have been a member of Thou Art Mum since 2007.
Although Laura’s work has changed in recent times, the common thread in all her work is her use of bold and vibrant colour with a soft, slightly blurred focus.
Lately, Laura has been captivated by Australian nature, and loves to draw close-up images of birds or plants with all their intricate details such as a colourful crest or an intricate leaf pattern. In the past she has also included figures in the landscape and loves to create a slightly whimsical feeling to the picture.
Laura works mainly with pastels but occasionally switch to linocut printing or oil painting if she feels the work requires it.
