Dawn paints acrylic and mixed media works where subjects range from ethereal goddess portraits, native Australian animal collages, to abstract form and colour pieces. She uses scraps of vintage newsprint, gold foil adding texture and nostalgia to her work. Dawn also makes resin sculptures out of handmade moulds and creates nature inspired jewellery out of dried flora and fauna.
She studied General Studio Art and English at the State University of New York at Buffalo but was strongly encouraged to graduate and get a ‘real job.’ Today she is still a few credits away from an actual art degree.
An American expat in Australia, her main source of inspiration is her two creative daughters, Australian wildlife and strong women.
You can find Dawn bouncing from private commissions to TAM exhibitions and writing creative website copy for small businesses from her home studio.
