Helen Platania is a mixed media artist based in Melbourne where she works from her home studio. Inspired by the female face, she is a lover of exploring the corners of the mind and the things you find there.
Helen has previously held an ‘Artist in Residence’ position at the Maharishi School in 2012, and currently runs weekly creative classes for both children and adults at ‘Art Angels & Crafty Cats’.
Helen is a passionate advocate for sharing her knowledge in the local community. She regularly works with local council on Arts events such as ‘Banyule Kids Arty Farty Fest ‘and has facilitated grant driven initiatives such as ‘Creative Time Out’ – an eight-week program for mothers of Autistic children - experiencing first-hand the ability art has to bring people together and encourage acceptance.
Helen has been an active member of Thou Art Mum since 2012.
