Helen Platania Art
Art Angels & Crafty Cats
Helen is an exhibiting and commissioned mixed media artist based in Greensborough where she works from her home studio.
Inspired by the female face, she is a lover of exploring the corners of the mind and the things you find there. Born in Wales and emigrating to Australia as a teenager she followed a creative path through jewellery design, mosaic and mixed media painting. Helen has held an “Artist in Residency” position at several local primary schools, and currently for both children and adults from her studio.
Helen is a passionate advocate for sharing her knowledge in the local community. She regularly works with local council on Arts events such as ‘Banuyle Kids Arty Party Fest’ and has successfully obtained a community grant to facilitate programs such as ‘Creative Time Out’ - an eight week art program for mothers of Autistic children - experiencing first hand the ability art has to bring people together with the encouragement of community support.
Helen has been an active member of TAM since 2012 and has held the Sub Committee Leader position with the group for 2014/15/17.
